Travel Itinerary – Day 1
Our 3-day kayaking adventure begins with a meeting at our office at 09:00 AM, where you’ll meet your guide and group. After a gear check and a short briefing, we’ll head to the kayak station and embark on the first leg of our journey. The day starts with around 2 hours of paddling, where you’ll glide through calm waters and take in the breathtaking scenery. By midday, we’ll stop for lunch on one of the small, beautiful islands—perfect for a swim, some sunbathing, or simply relaxing in nature.
After lunch, we’ll continue paddling for another 2 hours, with countless picture-perfect spots along the way. In the late afternoon, we’ll take a break for some snacks to recharge before paddling the final stretch of the day. As the evening approaches, we’ll begin our search for the perfect camping spot along the shoreline. Once we find it, you’ll set up your tent and settle in for the night. We’ll end the day next to a cozy campfire, with stunning views of the ocean and the peaceful sounds of nature all around.
Travel Itinerary – Day 2
Day two begins with the early morning light reflecting off the ocean as you enjoy breakfast with stunning views. After packing up your equipment, we’ll get back into our kayaks and continue our adventure, paddling several miles further out into the more remote parts of the archipelago. This day will take you to the edge of the archipelago, a completely uninhabited and pristine area that feels like a true escape from the world.
Along the way, we’ll stop for a short hike and a relaxing lunch on one of the small, untouched islands, where you can explore the rugged terrain and appreciate the wild beauty of the archipelago. The day will be filled with paddling, exploration, and opportunities to capture the serene and untouched landscape. We’ll finish the day by finding another ideal camping spot, where you can unwind, share stories around the fire, and enjoy another peaceful night under the stars.
Travel Itinerary – Day 3
On the final day, you’ll wake up to the calm serenity of the archipelago, savoring your morning coffee or tea by the ocean. After breakfast, we’ll pack up camp and begin the last part of our journey. The return route will take us along a different path, offering new islands and fresh scenery to discover on the way back to the kayak station. This final leg of the trip offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past few days, take in the remaining sights, and enjoy the tranquility of the archipelago one last time before we arrive back in town, bringing our incredible 3-day adventure to a close.
Our multi-day kayak tours are available only during the summer, when temperatures typically range from 16°C to 28°C. However, weather conditions on the open ocean can be unpredictable, and it’s not uncommon to encounter wind and rain during the trip. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we highly recommend checking the local weather forecast as your tour date approaches. Please bring suitable clothing based on the forecast, so you’re prepared for whatever nature brings. Being well-prepared will allow you to fully appreciate the adventure and beauty of ocean kayaking.
Let’s start with the most important rule: PACK LIGHT! Camping gear and food are the priorities, so everything else needs to fit around them. However, staying warm and dry is essential, and having a full change of clothes is crucial if you are tipping over. Below is our recommended packing list for your Stockholm Archipelago tour. Please adjust your packing based on the weather forecast and your personal preferences.
Paddling Clothing
Camping Clothing
Personal Items
Remember to check the weather before packing to ensure you’re well-prepared for the conditions!
Please note that you will step into the ocean when you enter and exit the kayak. We recommend some kind of sandals or water shoes, as it can get slippery. There are many cheap options in stores like XXL or Decathlon available. However, don’t feel the need to buy water shoes just for this experience if you don’t plan to use them again. Our kayaking adventure works just fine without water shoes as well!
We have no dedicated storage space for larger luggage (suitcases e.g. ). However, you can take smaller backpacks (daypacks) directly with you into the kayak (dry compartment). Otherwise, we recommend using one of the dedicated luggage box providers in Stockholm.
Recommendation: Luggage Hero T-Centralen

This multi-day Stockholm Archipelago tour covers approximately 15-20 km per day (45-60 km round-trip), offering a moderate to moderately challenging activity. The majority of our customers find the distance manageable, as we maintain a relaxed and steady pace. There’s no need to worry about the level of fitness required when booking with us.
You only need to be in normal health conditions and have a positive mindset. Our experienced guides will be there to assist you throughout the journey, though the level of individual support depends on the group size. We always strive to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience, and if needed, our guides are prepared to help, including towing kayaks if necessary.
For some participants, the tour may be physically demanding, depending on personal fitness and weather conditions, such as wind.
The likelihood of tipping over during our Stockholm Archipelago kayak tours is low, even in wavy conditions. Our kayaks are designed to be stable, making them suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Additionally, we carefully plan our routes to avoid areas with rough waters.
Before each trip, we provide a comprehensive briefing that covers essential paddling techniques and safety protocols. Our guides are always nearby to assist, ensuring everyone feels confident and secure throughout the journey. While it’s natural to have some concerns, tipping over is a rare occurrence. Should it happen, our guides are fully trained to respond quickly and effectively, ensuring your safety at all times.
Double kayaks are especially stable and rarely tip over. Tipping is more likely in single kayaks, so if you’re less experienced, we recommend choosing a double kayak when booking for added stability.
When deciding whether to use a single or tandem kayak, consider your experience level and what you’re looking for in your kayak tour Stockholm adventure. We typically provide tandem kayaks by default, as they cater well to various skill levels and promote a shared experience. Tandem kayaks are particularly suitable for beginners or those who prefer the company and added stability that comes with a two-person setup. Additionally, all our kayaks are sea kayaks equipped with a rudder, enhancing steering and control, making them ideal for navigating our coastal waters. If you have a preference for a single kayak, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your request. This allows us to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience on the water, tailored to their skills and comfort level.
We primarily explore the outer part of the Stockholm Archipelago. Our starting points are flexible and adjusted based on wind and weather conditions to ensure optimal safety and the best possible experience for all participants. The vast number of islands in the archipelago offers numerous opportunities for encounters and exploration. Depending on the day’s conditions, we carefully select the most scenic and suitable routes, ensuring each kayaking trip is unique. For those interested in extended adventures.
