Stockholm is best discovered on a private bike tour, that lets you explore the city at your own pace. Starting in the heart of the city, this tour takes you along scenic waterfronts, quiet streets and green parks, with regular stops to enjoy the views, take photos and hear stories about Stockholm’s past and future.

You will pass iconic sights like the City Hall, the Royal Palace, Riddarholmen and Gamla Stan, the Old Town. The route continues across bridges and along bike paths to Djurgården (Royal City Park), a peaceful island filled with nature, museums and historic buildings. The mix of well-known highlights and local favourites gives you a great overview of the city.

Stockholm is very bike-friendly, with dedicated lanes and calm roads that make this tour safe and enjoyable for most ages and fitness levels. You’ll ride comfortable city bikes and be guided by someone who knows the city well. We run the Stockholm City Bike Tour during the summer and autumn months, when the weather is generally pleasant. Temperatures typically range from 16°C to 28°C in summer and can be cooler in autumn. Conditions may vary, and you might experience wind or light rain during your tour.

As we say in Sweden, “There is no bad weather, only the wrong clothing.” This tour is enjoyable in all weather conditions if you come prepared.

For the Stockholm City Bike Tour, most guests wear casual and weather-appropriate clothing. You will be cycling at a relaxed pace with frequent stops, so there is no need for technical gear. Just dress for comfort and the weather.

We’re unfortunately not able to offer luggage storage for our biking tours, as they start and end at public meeting points. However, there are plenty of paid storage lockers in Stockholm, for example at the main station T Centralen.

There are no public toilets at the meeting point, so please plan ahead. Some nearby cafés or restaurants may have restrooms, but we recommend using one before you arrive to ensure a comfortable start to your tour. During the tour, we’ll pass public toilet facilities that you can use if needed.

The Stockholm City Bike Tour covers around 12 to 15 kilometers, making it a light physical activity suitable for most people. We ride at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops to explore the city and hear stories along the way. You just need to be in normal health and bring a positive mindset. Our guides are there to support the group, though the level of individual attention may vary depending on group size.

The route is mostly flat with well-marked cycling paths, and we avoid busy roads whenever possible. It is a safe and comfortable ride for all experience levels. That said, it can still feel like a bit of a workout for some, especially in warm or windy weather. But overall, the tour is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

For all our Stockholm City Bike Tours, we typically use comfortable city bikes with 7 gears and hand brakes. They are easy to ride, well-suited for urban cycling, and ideal for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxed experience.

We also offer kids’ bikes and the option to upgrade to an e-bike. If you would like to reserve one of these, just let us know during the booking process.

Absolutely. Our Stockholm City Bike Tours are family friendly and suitable for kids. We make sure the experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for all ages.

The tour works well for children from 6 years and up, as long as they are comfortable riding a bike for a few hours. We have kids’ bikes and helmets in various sizes, and for younger children, we can provide a child bike seat mounted behind the rider or a bike trailer if requested in advance.

Children under 6 years ride free of charge when using a seat or trailer.
